Aberdeen fire: Two women dead and baby rushed to hospital after horror blaze rips through flat

TWO women have died and a baby has been rushed to hospital following a horror flat fire.

Emergency crews raced to a property in Aberdeen at around 6pm last night.

Sadly, two women were pronounced dead at the scene following the blaze at Black Hilton Road.

A baby was taken to hospital as a precaution and was later discharged.

Fire crews were also at the scene with seven appliances and specialist equipment.

Neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution.

Police have launched a joint probe with Scottish Fire and Rescue Services is currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

But there are no apparent suspicious circumstances at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: «Around 6pm on Monday, 29 January, 2024 officers were called to a report of a fire at a property on Back Hilton Road in Aberdeen.

«Emergency services attended and two women were pronounced dead at the scene.

«A baby was taken to hospital as a precaution and was later discharged.

«The road was closed but has now re-opened and we would like to thank people for their patience.

«A joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing to establish the full circumstances. However, there are no apparent suspicious circumstances at this time.»
